Irina Mc Auley is Ireland based visual artist.
​Irina began her career as a painter receiving her BA in National College of Art and Design in Dublin in 2022 and MFA in NCAD in 2024.
Irina’s works explore reflections of time, belief, and the quiet beauty of impermanence. Inspired by wabi-sabi philosophy, she embraces the marks of age. Rust becomes a metaphor for life and its constant transformation. Inspired by artists like Anselm Kiefer, Hughie O’Donoghue, Robert Armstrong, through earthy colours and textures of oil paint, she reflects on changes around us, and her own personal journey, as she grapples with feelings of belonging and displacement.
Drawing inspiration from mythology, sacred sites, and the philosophy of impermanence, Irina uses symbolism, layered textures, and earthy tones to evoke memory and transformation. Irina’s paintings invite viewers to pause, reflect, and sense the deeper stories held within the land.
